We may not have a position open at this time, but we would like to hear from you so we can call as soon as a suitable position arises. Project Management

Our project management team is involved in all aspects of marketing research projects from design through reporting the results. Project managers have front–line responsibility for quality and customer satisfaction, and they work closely with clients to ensure that the project is completed on time and on budget.

Our entry–level project management employees all have bachelor's or master's degrees from accredited universities. Although we do not require business degrees, we do expect that the successful candidate will have significant exposure to marketing and statistics either through their academic training or their work experience. Specific experience with SPSS, CATI development or on-line survey development are all big "plusses."

As entry–level employees gain experience in CATI development, tabulations and field management, we expect that they will take on greater responsibilities for client contact, project design and analysis, and training newer employees.

Field Management

Our field management team is responsible for all aspects of data collection. They train and supervise our on-site interviewing staff; they supervise production and distribution of mail surveys; they train and supervise "in-store" interviewers and mystery shoppers; and they supervise field-service firms who provide similar services in other cities.

We expect that the successful field–management candidate will have personal experience providing one of the field services and will have experience supervising others who are providing such services. In addition, we expect the candidate to provide strong professional references attesting to her/his supervisory abilities, work habits and ethics.

We do not require a four–year college degree for field–management positions. However, college training is definitely a "plus," and is required for advancement in other areas of company management.

Business Development

Applied's rapid growth and expansion into new geographic and product markets has presented opportunities in business development for seasoned marketing research professionals. Our business development staff has responsibilities for obtaining new business and managing lines of business or regional offices. A bachelor's degree from an accredited university and substantial experience in the marketing research industry are required. A master's degree is preferred. Obviously, the ability to bring in new business right away without violating "non-compete" agreements with former employers is very desirable.

Part–Time Field Service Providers and Supervisors

Applied has regular openings for part-time field-service staff members. These individuals are primarily responsible for conducting telephone interviews. In addition, the staff conducts in–store interviews, completes mystery–shopping audits and prepares mail survey questionnaires for distribution.

The successful candidate for our field–service staff will have a high school diploma and demonstrate proficiency in reading scripts. We also require recommendations attesting to the individual's ethics and work habits and a demonstrated typing speed of 30 words per minute.

Occasionally, Applied provides opportunities to outstanding high school seniors who otherwise meet all job qualifications and who provide personal and academic references.

Field–service supervisors are all promoted from within the field–service staff based on their strong work ethic, their ability to work with other employees from diverse backgrounds, their commitment to excellent customer service and their commitment to gathering reliable information in a professional manner.
